We all think that our next LCM featured artist Sarah Munro has a super vocal. Sarah is a 21 year old singer-songwriter and guitarist from Hertfordshire, whose music combines a fusion of Folk, Jazz and Americana with a strong emphasis on lyrics and storytelling. In 2016, Sarah released her debut album 'Say Hello To You' which features 10 original songs plus a stunning interpretation of the classic 'Autumn Leaves'. The very talented Sarah is also currently on the longlist in the Jazz and Blues category of the Unsigned Music Awards (UMA). Our LCM #SongOfTheDay the wonderful and positive 'Make It Your Own' is taken from her debut album. Sarah is one of our LCM 'Ones To Watch' in 2018

Sarah has been singing since she was a child, writing her first song at the age of 7. At school, she joined the choir and was a regular vocalist with the Big Band. Throughout her youth, Sarah performed in talent shows and entered singing competitions, often with her own compositions. She was awarded 'Senior Young Musician of the Year' at school in March 2013 for her original song 'Lifeboats'.

In December 2015, Sarah released her debut single ‘For Eternity‘ with two original songs, the title track and 'Wishing Well' both of which were written by Sarah. 'For Eternity' is featured on Sarah's debut album 'Say Hello To You'..

On January 5th 2016, 'For Eternity' was played on Jamie Cullum's BBC Radio 2 jazz show, featuring Sarah as "one to watch in 2016". On February 21st, the single was played on Sunday Night with Michael Ball on BBC Radio 2. It was also played on Alex Dutilh's 'Open Jazz' show on France Musique.

Ahead of its release, an official music video was produced for the song 'For Eternity' in a black-and-white film noir style with Sarah singing to camera in one take. The video was also mentioned in the London Jazz Newsletter and featured on France's Jazz Radio website.

Sarah's music has been played on BBC Radio 2, Jazz FM, BBC 6 Music, France Musique, RNE Radio 3 (Spain), BBC Three Counties Radio, Radio Verulam, All Day Jazz FM (Netherlands), The Choice Radio Network (US), Women of Substance (US), and radio stations worldwide.

On August 31st 2015, Sarah's original song, 'Say Goodnight', was featured in Tom Robinson's BBC Introducing mixtape on BBC Radio 6 Music. Also in 2015, Sarah recorded a lushly-orchestrated version of the Doris Day classic, 'I'll Be Home For Christmas', which received airplay on BBC Local Radio, broadcasting to 40 BBC stations across England and the Channel Islands. In 2016 and 2017, Sarah supported British singer-songwriter Paul Carrack on his 24-date concert tour, performing in prestigious venues across the UK including The London Palladium, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Sheffield Arena, Glasgow's SECC Clyde Auditorium, Sage Gateshead, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, The Alban Arena, De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill-on-Sea, and Buxton Opera House.

In 2017, Sarah performed sold-out headline shows at The Pheasantry in Chelsea and PizzaExpress Jazz Club in Soho, as well as playing the Songbird Stage at Cornbury Festival.

Sarah played a double-bill showcase at Cheltenham Jazz Festival in the PizzaExpress Live Arena and has appeared in various events at Cheltenham, including two filmed performances of her original songs 'The One' and 'Fool Forever' for the Henry Westons Sessions, who have recorded the likes of Gregory Porter, Jamie Cullum, and Lianne La Havas. Sarah has also supported legendary American songwriter Jimmy Webb at The Stables in Milton Keynes and 80s band Johnny Hates Jazz. In 2016, Sarah was selected by Jamie Cullum to take part in a BBC Introducing Showcase at Cheltenham Jazz Festival hosted by Jo Whiley, which was recorded for broadcast on her BBC Radio 2 show, as well as Jamie Cullum's jazz programme and across BBC Three Counties radio.
