Liv Austen is a very good Norwegian singer-songwriter who is now based in London. She is currently one of the fast rising stars of UK Country and one of our 'LCM Ones to Watch’.. We are all big fans of her music here at LCM and have been following her progress closely. Liv performs regularly with her own band and as a duo'. Her award-winning debut EP' Workin' Man's Dream' was released in August 2014.

Liv grew up in Norway and trained as a musical theatre performer. In her final year of training she was simultaneously performing in Jesus Christ Superstar at DNT (The Norwegian Theatre, 2009-2010). She moved to the UK in 2010 to train at the Guildford School of Acting. She graduated in 2013 with a first class honours degree and is now based in London.

Since graduating she has appeared in the musical Scandinavian Heart, written by Dike Okoh, as the passionate and idealistic Swedish student Brigitta Häggström who gets involved with the occupy movement in London, it was first put on at the Tristan Bates Theatre in 2013 and then recast and performed Upstairs at the Gatehouse in 2014.

She also originated the role of vicious and self obsessed Dana in WIFI (What Is Future I?) at the Tea House Theatre under the direction of Emma Minihan (writer) and Charlie Limm, produced by Pen & Rose Productions. Liv has appeared in several short films, Ananké, Delilah, Samaritan, Norm, and The End, and the feature film Modern Love.

While training at the Guildford School of Acting Liv played the part of Olivia in Twelfth Night, Tess Kittredge in Six Degrees of Separation, Council to the Inquiry in The Colour of Justice, and Madeline Bray in Nicholas Nickleby.

Liv has been a singer and a musician all her life and grew up in a musical home. She started writing songs in her teenage years and finally released her debut EP 'Workin' Man's Dream' in August 2014. The EP consists of 4 original country/pop tracks. The EP was recorded at Ten21 Studios and produced by Sean Kenny, with funds to record it raised through a campaign on Pledgemusic.com, that saw friends, family and complete strangers pledging generously. Liv Austen's first record started gaining momentum and received praise from other musicians and bands. It also received rave reviews from blogs such as 4000 Miles to Nashville. It was awarded 2014 UK EP Of The Year by W21 Music.

Earlier in 2015 she released her first single off the EP, 'Rain On My Side' and it was soon picked up by local BBC Stations, Chris Country, Keepin' it Country with Peter Street, The Front Porch with Baylen Leonard and radio other stations. Her music was also played on American Radio in connection with W21 Music's Starbound Special. Liv also performed excellent sets at the C2C festival (London O2).

Liv is constantly performing in and around London and occasionally in Norway. She released her very good second EP 'Who I Am Today' in the summer and all of us are eagerly awaiting her highly anticipated debut album hopefully releasing next year.

She has recently released a new single through Decca Records called 'Over' which was personally written for her by the award-winning Ben Earle of The Shires.

"Liv Austen has recently crept onto many fans’ radar through her appearance at the Brooklyn Bowl with her band The Banned at this year’s C2C Festival in London. With her eclectic brand of folky country pop, her EP 'Workin' Man's Dream' has gone further into solidifying her place on the British and European country music scene, and it seems like there are big things ahead for the songstress." (Vickye Fisher, For The Country Record)
