Two - The Young Fables
For our LCM featured artists we head stateside to Nashville for the critically acclaimed duo Laurel Wright and Wes Lunsford better known as The Young Fables. Our LCM #TrackOfTheDay is the very catchy 'Two' the title track from their debut album released in February.
Laurel from Maryville, Tennessee started singing at age 4 in & around East Tennessee Churches. At age 10 she started playing the guitar & wrote her first song. Now, Laurel has single handedly written more than 30 songs, of which several air on the nation's largest radio broadcast, country giant WIVK.FM. She has also performed at numerous venues with such artists as Kix Brookes, Sara Evans, Leanne Rimes, The Band Perry, Josh Thompson, Frankie Ballard, James Wesley, Blaine Larson, Troy Olsen & Katie Armiger to name a few.
Wes was born in Tallassee, Tennessee. At age 9 he took piano lessons for a couple of years. When he was 14, his mother brought him his first guitar. Back then, Wes loved The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd. At age 15, he started a band and was the lead vocal and lead guitar player. He studied music business for a year at MTSU, but decided that wasn't really what he wanted to do. In 2009 he earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Tennessee with a concentration in Studio Music and Jazz. During and after college, he freelanced for various bands around the Eastern United States. After working in China Wes started listening to (and loving) country music. After returning to the States, he played country music for a small label's various artists in East Tennessee. Some of the people he met during that time knew Laurel. It was a friend from that group who called him that night to fill in on guitar with Laurel. Wes has worked with a lot of musicians, but knew from the moment they started working and writing together, they both had something very special.
